Other features that are unique to only this model are the anodized and sandblasted aluminum handles, the sandblasted, Boron Carbide coated, S30V blade and the latch and pivot pins which are made from hardened 416 stainless steel with a black oxide coating similar to gun bluing.

The BM42-400 is just the third Benchmade balisong model available with Zen Pins. Done by Benchmade, it is available exclusively through Aquarius Rising Knives. While the numbering on each knife is #/125, there are only 110 pieces available as some blades had to be scrapped during production. The 42-400 uses leftover parts from past Benchmade balisongs. Numbers available are 1-113 except for 76, 77 & 78.
